École Edwards Elementary School will have a newcomer in August, as Nancy Dutchik will assume the role of school principal.

According to a Rocky View Schools (RVS) press release, Dutchik – currently the principal of Mitford School in Cochrane – has worked for RVS since 1990 when she joined Cochrane High School as a social studies teacher. She was appointed assistant principal of Langdon School in 2010 and took her current position at Mitford in 2014.

Dutchik holds a master of education in educational leadership and professional development from the University of Lethbridge, according to RVS, and a bachelor of education with a major in social studies and a minor in physical education from the University of Calgary.

She will replace current principal Peter Fultz, who will assume her role as principal at Mitford School.
