Georgina Grace Evans

February 22, 1948 – May 12, 2024

Georgina “Gina” Grace Evans passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 12, 2024, at Westview Care Community in Linden, Alberta.

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Georgina met her husband, Robert Evans, whom she married in 1965. They had three daughters before leaving Montreal in 1974 and settling in Alberta.

Georgina was a dedicated wife and mother although she often worked out of the home as the girls grew up. Georgina and her family moved to Airdrie in 1979, a small town that she enjoyed very much.  She loved to travel and lived in various cities and towns throughout her life, including Calgary, Gibsons and Powell River, BC., Didsbury and finally Linden.

Gina was a loving, caring and generous woman who worked for several years in home care, often caring for her clients through palliative and end of life care. She loved animals, especially dogs and she was the human of many fur babies over the years. She had lots of friends and family members, a mother of three, a Nana of six and a Great Nana of ten, she carried on in silly ways just to hear the children laugh. Gina was very funny with a smile that lit up any room; she had the best sense of humor and will be remembered for it by those blessed enough to have known her.

Georgina is pre-deceased by her parents Sheila Broad & George Chalmers, her sister Dawna Chalmers and her former husband and friend Robert Evans.

She is survived by: her brother George Chalmers (Marilyn); sisters Elizabeth Tait, Heather Chalmers and Robyn Fogarty St.Jules; children Christine Evans, Lynda Evans (Dwayne) and Wendy Taylor (Cleve); granddaughter Samantha Schofield and grandsons Cody Evans, Michael Evans, Reno Stocco, Robert Stocco, and Joseph Brinson; great-granddaughters Aubrii, Keyrah, Elaine, Sawyer, Emma, Atlas and Eydis and great-grandsons Iver, Fynnly and Ollie.

No services will be held at Gina’s request.

We love you Gina, Georgina, Mum, Nana, Friend.
