The Airdrie Eclipse U13 football team took home another first place finish at the first ever Rumble in the Rockies indoor football tournament at the end of March, capping off an impressive undefeated season.

Airdrie Storm Pee Wee U12 Tackle Football team didn’t lose a single regular season game all year. On November 4, they became the Calgary and Area Division 1 Champions by defeating the Okotoks Eagles 62-8.

With one championship under their belts, on November 11, they went on to Red Deer to battle for the Wild Rose Championship against the Red Deer Scotia Bucks. It was not much of a battle as the Storm walked all over their rivals with an unprecedented win of 88-0.

A select team was composed of a majority of the U12s from Airdrie Storm Pee Wee and the balance from the Airdrie Raiders Bantam Division. The team was then renamed the Airdrie Eclipse and entered in the U12 Division of the tournament. It was a big event with the Sask Selects Football hosting the third annual Battle of the Prairies in Moose Jaw, January 11-14.

The Airdrie Eclipse U12 finally found a little bit more of a test to their skills, but to their persistence and determination came out as the U12 Division Winners for this Tournament. maintaining their undefeated status once again.

The Airdrie Eclipse entered another Tournament as the U13s just before Easter called the first Annual Rumble in the Rockies Youth Tackle Indoor Football.

The Easter Classic, held in Red Deer on March 26-30, produced another exciting five days of football and another win for the Eclipse, who maintained their undefeated status by beating the Alberta International Selects. The final was a nail biter and had everyone in attendance on edge with a final score of 26-25.

As these youths move up in their age category during the upcoming regular fall season, we hope that their skills will follow with them.
