Innisfail Mounties are trying to locate a female thief who brazenly stole packages in broad daylight from the front porch of a home in the southeast part of town.

RCMP Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said in a media release that at 2:04 p.m. in the afternoon of March 18 Innisfail RCMP received a report of a female suspect stealing packages from the front steps of an Innisfail residence in the area of 37th Street and 50th Avenue.

“This is a pretty constant common crime that RCMP investigate, especially just before Christmas holiday season,” said Savinkoff. “You've got different types of offenders. You've got some that just drive around, maybe seeing an opportunity that arises where they see a package.

“And then you have the more sophisticated ones that may actually physically follow the trucks around and steal packages that way,” he said.

“She loaded up those parcels and then put them in the backseat of the truck.”

Savinkoff said the female suspect is described as having a light complexion, dyed red/blonde hair and was driving a white Ford F-150 extended cab truck.

Savinkoff said anyone with any information about this incident or those responsible, are requested to call the Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3341 or their local police.
