Avid users of Airdrie Public Library (APL) will know that we’re on a program break until March 4.

It’s not really a break as such, no one is cooling their heels on a beach somewhere, it’s more of a deep-breath moment as we get ready for new programming for March and April.

All the preschool programs, such as Read, Build, Play and Unplug & Play, Toddlertime, Babytime, and Preschool Storytime are returning.

School-age programs return with Crochet it Up, Full STEAM Ahead, and LEGO Club.

We’re adding two new programs for the after-school crowd, Beads & Beyond, which will introduce participants to the colourful world of beading, and Cross Stitching: Family Edition, where children and caregivers will learn the art of cross stitch.

Families will also see the continuation of the popular Family Adventures, an exploration of hands-on learning for the entire family.

Other family-friendly programs include Drone Zone and the No-Pay Pokemon Club.

Drone Zone will introduce participants to APL’s camera drones and will teach basic use of them by flying through the stacks.

No-Pay Pokemon Club will help participants to make their own mats and print their own decks.

Teens and tweens will see a Warhammer Alliance Club with two age groups, offering them the chance to engage in a fun, creative, and social hobby.

Teens also have Cross Stitch for Teens and the return of Murder Mystery Party.

Adults also have their own Murder Mystery Party and Travel Italy.

Travel Italy will feature Caitlynn Bailey-Cummings from DOP Italian Travel who will be discussing the difference between North American Italian dishes and what Italians really eat.

Look for Airdrie’s Social Cinema, featuring the movies Chic Lit and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.

Financial Planning for Post Secondary Education, Wii and Tales for the Tall, and Madonna: A Rebel Life book discussion and dance party will also show up in this session. For more information on all library programs and events, visit www.airdriepubliclibrary.ca
