Crossfield Madden 4-H Beef Club excited for upcoming events

Our annual Achievement Day will take place on May 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Havens Arena. At this event, our members will have a wide variety of projects that they will be showing such as steers, heifers and cow/calf pairs.

My name is Taylor Hall and as the club reporter for the Crossfield Madden 4-H Beef Club, I would like to inform Rocky View Weekly readers of our upcoming events.

Our annual Achievement Day will take place on May 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Havens Arena. At this event, our members will have a wide variety of projects that they will be showing such as steers, heifers and cow/calf pairs. Our club is very excited for this day, as we have been working hard with our animals all year in preparation for Achievement Day. Members will have the opportunity to participate and be judged in a Grooming class, Showmanship class, and Confirmation class.

At the start of June, our club will be participating at 4-H on Parade, presented by Brandt Equipment. This is held at the Stampede Grounds in Calgary from June 1 to 4. This is a very busy but fun weekend for our members, as we get to spend time together and show off our animals. The heifer show will be held on Friday and the steer show will be held on Saturday, both at the Nutrien Centre. Then, on Sunday, our members will be selling our steers. The sale takes place in the Agriculture Building-Pavilion and starts at 9 a.m. The full schedule can be found on the 4-H on Parade website.

Our club has sale catalogues available that feature our animals. Our catalogues are available in a paper format or electronic versions. These can also be viewed on our Facebook page: Crossfield Madden 4-H Beef Club Past and Present.

Anyone who may be interested in purchasing all or a portion of steer to fill your freezer or sponsorship opportunities with our club; please contact our club leader at [email protected]
