Langdonites can learn more about their community by participating in a miniature rubber duck scavenger hunt.

The Langdon community has been exploring and looking for clues since the local mini rubber duck scavenger hunt kicked off on Aug. 21.

The event, organized by the Langdon Community Association, aims to promote community engagement and exploration while bringing attention to local businesses and attractions.

Chrissy Craig, the executive director for the Langdon Community Association, delved into the inspiration behind the quirky scavenger hunt and its role in fostering a stronger sense of community.

"The concept of the mini duck hunt was born out of our observation of numerous videos featuring individuals concealing these tiny ducks within office spaces." Craig explained. "We found ourselves intrigued by the notion of extending this enjoyment throughout the entire community."

"Furthermore, given the frequent inquiries from residents regarding available services, businesses, and amenities within the community, we considered this initiative an entertaining approach to encourage people to venture into various locations and become better acquainted with their surroundings."

The heart of the scavenger hunt lies in its carefully crafted riddles and clues, designed to challenge participants' wits while ensuring accessibility for everyone.

According to Craig, the scavenger hunt isn't just about friendly competition and solving riddles; but also boosting local businesses and attractions.

"Participants are prompted to step outside, embarking on explorations that might lead them to new businesses or parks they were previously unaware of or hadn't had the chance to visit before," she said.

As participants follow the trail of riddles, capturing their discoveries through photos, the Langdon Community Association has been pleased to witness the enthusiasm and engagement the event has sparked.

"This has been such fun to see the pictures coming through, and the entertainment in everyone—we have families to teenagers participating," said Craig.

Langdon's streets have become a canvas for adventure, with locals scouring every nook and cranny for the elusive rubber ducks. The hunt is set to continue until Sept. 5, giving participants ample time to decode the riddles, uncover the hidden ducks, and potentially win exciting prizes.
