Today's high of 16 C and Monday's high of 15 C will be the last taste of spring weather this week as temperatures are predicted to drop into the double-digit negatives once again.
According to Environment Canada, Tuesday will be a high of 3 C with a 60 per cent chance of showers that will turn into snow as nighttime rolls around. The snow will continue until at least Saturday.
Wednesday's high is predicted to be -6 C, with the temperatures falling to -12 C on Thursday. It will get slightly warmer on Friday and Saturday, with highs of -9 C. The nighttime lows will fluctuate between -7 C and -14 C from Wednesday to Saturday.
Snow will most likely continue falling from Thursday night until Saturday, with Environment Canada forecasting a 60 per cent chance of flurries from Thursday through to the weekend.
According to Environment Canada, the average high for this time of year is 3.9 C and the average low is -7.8 C.
Airdrie and area residents will have to wait a week to see if the springtime weather will return, and hopefully for a more permanent stay.
