Conservative majority brings stability

In an historic federal election on May 2, Canadians delivered a solid, stable majority Conservative government to Ottawa. Canadians resoundingly approved our low-tax plan to complete the economic recovery and to secure Canada’s future prosperity.

As the re-elected Conservative MP for Wild Rose, I am deeply honoured that you have placed your trust in me to be a part of a team that is dedicated to balancing the books, cutting costs and waste in Ottawa, and working for the economic security of all Canadians. I have worked hard to be a voice for all residents of Wild Rose over the past two and a half years and you can expect the same of me again in the new Parliament.

Canadians gave us a majority mandate on our commitment to focus on the economic recovery and the economy will remain our priority when Parliament resumes. The majority gives our government the tools to take the necessary measures that will complete the recovery, to the benefit of everyone in Canada. As Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on election night, our Conservative government is a government for all Canadians, not only those who voted for us.

I’d like to sincerely thank the volunteers who worked so hard on my re-election. All across our large constituency, a great many people gave selflessly of their time and energy to pound in lawn signs, answer phones, act as scrutineers and to perform the numerous tasks that go into a demanding federal election campaign. I am deeply appreciative for all of your contributions.

I am very grateful for the offers of support that I heard so often on the campaign trail and for your support at the ballot box. It is a privilege to have once again been granted the opportunity to serve you and to represent you in Parliament.

My focus in the new Parliament will remain the same as it has always been as your representative: To consult frequently with you, and to carry your views forward within government.

Thank you once again for your trust and your support. A new era of prosperity and stability lies ahead for Canada and I am honoured that you have shown confidence in me to represent you on the road ahead.
