Mayor Bruce Rowe noted that he was been approached by a CTV reporter who said they had received a tip that the Beiseker Fire Station was closing. This is absolutely untrue, Mayor Rowe said. In fact, he is optimistic that a final agreement with the County of Rocky View will be signed within a few weeks. This will provide for better training, better equipment and better all around service to both rural northeast Rocky View and urban residents.

Councillor Brenda Hnybida told council that recreation money will go unused if groups do not apply for it.
