Police Notebook: Chestermere police asking for the public's help

The Chestermere RCMP is asking the public for help in locating the suspects who stole an all-terrain vehicle and trailer from a residence. On the morning of Sept. 2, a Willowmere Close resident discovered that his vehicles were stolen from his home.

On the morning of Sept. 2, a Willowmere Close resident discovered that his vehicles were stolen from his home.

The theft occurred sometime overnight. The ATV is described as a 2005 Honda four-wheel-drive model TE2655, dark green in colour. The trailer is a 2006 silver “Yaht Club.”

Various RCMP agencies seized stolen vehicles, trailers, firearms and explosive materials after executing a search warrant in the rural area of Delacour on Sept. 8 and 9.

Upon completion of the search, three stolen F350s were located along with one F350 in multiple pieces, a Dodge Ram dually, two holiday trailers, three cargo trailers, multiple stolen licence plates, a loaded firearm and a small quantity of what is believed to be an explosive material.

The investigation is still ongoing and. No arrests have been made at this time.

The Chestermere RCMP is pleased to announce a contest for Grade 3-6 students at four Chestermere schools. Students are encouraged to collect all 13 of the Chestermere RCMP “COP” cards. When students have collected all the cards, they will be entered into a draw at their school.

Chestermere schools involved in the contest include Prairie Waters Elementary, Rainbow Creek Elementary, Our Lady of Wisdom Elementary and St. Gabriel the Arch Angel.

Students can obtain each officer’s COP card during regular police officer school visits or when the officers are not actively engaged in other duties. Cards can only be obtained from the officers and not at the Chestermere RCMP detachment.
