On May 30 at about 6:30 p.m., Airdrie rural RCMP responded to the sudden death of a 43-year-old woman on an acreage northeast of CrossIron Mills mall.
Cst. Rob Frizzell said the death was deemed 100 per cent non-suspicious in nature.
“Upon attending the residence, we were notified by EMS that the female suffered injuries while working on her vehicle,” he said. “We believe she had the vehicle jacked up and something slipped or malfunctioned causing the car to crush her. There is no reason to believe foul play was involved. It was simply an accidental death.”
Frizzell reminded residents to take precautions when working on their vehicles.
“If you are doing home maintenance or working on your car, ensure the vehicle is properly jacked up and use wood blocks to ensure it doesn’t fall on you,” he said.
RCMP is not releasing the name of the deceased at this time.
