Cochrane RCMP are advising motorists to use caution along Hwy. 1 west as an ongoing carbon tax protest continues today.

There may be ongoing traffic delays throughout the day.

The protest coincides with the federal government's decision to raise the carbon tax, effective yesterday.

Protestors say they will remain at the intersection of Hwy. 1 and Hwy. 22 until the tax is abolished.

Numerous anti-Trudeau signs were also on view at the protest Monday.
