Springbank Community High School is hosting its inaugural homecoming evening, Dec. 16, at the school.
Beginning at 6 p.m., the evening will feature the school’s senior varsity basketball teams facing off against a number of alumni players.
“This is a chance for former staff, students and athletes to gather together, reminisce and celebrate the long and proud history of Springbank Community High School,” said assistant principal Ed Polhill.
“I’m hoping the event will draw a large crowd and continue to build the fantastic spirit we have in our community.”
School teams and clubs will be holding a silent auction featuring retro Springbank Phoenix athletic gear to help raise money for their programs.
“It is going to be good basketball action,” said Polhill. “It is an opportunity to catch up with old friends and see people you haven’t seen for a while, reminisce and help athletics.”
Polhill said the game will be entertaining, as players from a variety of generations have signed up.
“I think it will be a fantastic opportunity,” said Polhill. “I am really looking forward to seeing some of the faces that have previously been in the halls.”
The cost of the event is $2, payable at the door. For more information, contact Polhill at [email protected]
