With the retirement of longtime principal Nancy Adams, Bert Church High School will now look to Pam Davidson to lead the charge.
Davidson, currently employed as Springbank Middle School’s principal, has been a Rocky View Schools’ employee since 1992. Her roles changed over the years from teacher, to assistant principal and principal at various schools. She was employed by the Pembina Hills School Division from 1985 to 1992.
“What’s interesting is that the kids who are in grades 11 and 12, not all, but some, would have been my Meadowbrook students as 5 and 6’s,” said Davidson. “I get to reconnect with some of the kids I already know.”
She said student leadership is a great passion of hers and hopes to maintain or increase that activity at the high school.
“I’m looking forward to being able to take up the mantle on those (activities) and see what else we can do.”
Davidson has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education, chairs the RVS Superintendent Working Committee on Professional Learning and serves on the Council on Alberta Teaching Standards.
“I think Pam is a good fit for Bert Church,” said outgoing principal Adams. “She is very student focused and she has always been very involved in any school at which she has worked. This is a great choice for our school.”
