Airdrie RCMP arrested two people Oct. 11 following report came in of a suspicious vehicle in Crossfield.
According to a press release, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:15 p.m. Once Airdrie RCMP located the car, it was found to have a stolen license plate. Members attempted to engage the driver, at which point he fled from police.
The suspect fled through numerous yards, but with help from the public and Police Dog Services, he was located and arrested. A female was arrested at the vehicle.
“A search of the vehicle incidental to arrest resulted in the seizure of a large amount of drugs, as well as a semi-automatic rifle with nearly 200 rounds of ammunition,” the release said.
Brendan Kyle Latimer, 26, has been charged with 15 offences including possession of stolen property, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of break-in instruments and alter, deface, or remove serial number on a firearm.
Baillee Maureen Adams, 23 has been charged with 14 offences including possession of stolen property, obstructing a peace officer, three counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Latimer has been remanded into custody while Adams was released on conditions. Both are scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court Oct. 22.
