What's on the Agenda: April 2

Airdrie council will meet at 1 p.m. on April 2 for its regular council meeting.
City council met April 3 and declared April 15 to 21 Nation Volunteer Week in Airdrie.

Three bylaws are set to receive their second and third reading at today's regular council meeting in Airdrie, which will fund the South West Recreation Centre, the Highland Park Fire Station project, and the Fire Vehicle and Equipment Project.

Five reports will then be presented to council, including an update on the NE Regional Park Master Plan, a report on an upgrade project of Gwacheon Park, a summary of Advancing Airdrie's Housing Journey, a request to replace the Downtown Incentives Policy, and a revised 2024 Council calendar.

The consent agenda includes one item to proclaim April 19 as Lights On Afterschool Alberta Day in Airdrie and light up City Hall in blue and yellow lights to recognize the impact after school programs have on children, families, and communities.

Business arising from council committees includes updates from Commuity Safety and Social Services, Community and Corporate Services, and Community Infrastructure and Strategic Growth.

The City Manager will also provide updates on the progress of resolutions and inquiries of Council.

Airdrie council will meet at 1 p.m. for its regular council meeting.

Question Period is still part of the agenda, but per a change to this process in the fall of 2023, residents must register to ask a question during a regular council meeting. Contact Legislative Services for information on how to register.

A closed meeting will follow the regular meeting with topics including a land update, an infrastructure update, a project update, and board appointments.
Items are protected under section 24, 25, and 29 of Freedom of Information and Protection (FOIP) of the privacy act, which means information is protected on advice from officials, due to disclosure being harmful to economic and other interests of the public body, and in case of section 29 it is or will be available to the public.
