Airdrie Xtreme begin playoff push this Thursday

After their dominant regular season, the Airdrie Xtreme U15 AAA boys' hockey team is kicking off the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) playoffs with a best-of-three series against the Calgary Royals this Thursday.

The Airdrie Xtreme U15 AAA boys' hockey team is entering its playoff run with high hopes of winning the AEHL championship.

After their dominant regular season, the Airdrie Xtreme U15 AAA boys' hockey team is kicking off the Alberta Elite Hockey League (AEHL) playoffs with a best-of-three series against the Calgary Royals this Thursday. 

The Xtreme will welcome the Royals to the Ron Ebbesen Arena for game one at 5:45 p.m. The two teams will square off for game two at Calgary's Stu Peppard Arena the following evening (March 10) at 7 p.m. 

If game three is necessary, it will be back in Airdrie on Sunday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m.

The Xtreme will be the heavy favourites, having finished the regular season in first place of the AEHL south division with an incredible 33-1 record. The dominant Airdronians scored a league-best 212 goals, (an average of more than six per game) while boasting the AEHL's strongest defence, with just 68 goals conceded, or an average of two per game.
