Edge basketball hosts international prep tournament

The Edge School for student-athletes hosted its first-ever international prep basketball tournament Nov. 7 to 10, with competing teams coming from across Canada and the United States.

Games took place at both the Springbank-based private school and SAIT.  Boys' basketball teams from the Edge and the school's new prep girls' team took part.

On the boys' side, the tournament included Golden State Prep from Oakland, CA., and PHH Phoenix Prep, from Ariz. The two prep high-school teams have produced many NCAA-caliber players, according to Eddie Richardson III, the Edge's Director of Basketball.

The girls' tournament included post-secondary opposition from Calgary-based Ambrose University and Burman University, out of Lacombe, Alta.
