The Airdrie Irish are just days away from their 2023 Alberta Football League (AFL) season-opener, which gets underway this Saturday in Lacombe. On that road trip north, the Irish will face the Central Alberta Bucanneers.
This past Saturday, the Irish hosted their 'Family Football Day' at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park, which included an intersquad preseason scrimmage featuring players from the team decked out in either green or white uniforms.
After they take on Central Alberta this weekend, Airdrie's AFL franchise will host their home-opener on June 10 against the Peace Country Cowboys. at Ed Eggerer Athletic Park.
