The George McDougall Mustangs went undefeated during the 2023 regular season to finish in first place among Rockyview high schools. The Mustangs finished with a 6-0 record, and their high-flying offence obliterated the competition. In six games, the Mustangs scored 243 points; a pace that averaged about 40.5 points scored a game. Their stellar defence was no slouch either; they only allowed opposing offences to score 43 points, which averages out to about a touchdown against per game.
At a practice at Airdrie Town and Country, the Mustangs prepared for their first playoff game against Springbank on Oct. 20. The Mustangs won 55-20 and will now play Cochrane in the league championship game on Oct. 28 at Ed Eggerer Field in Airdrie.
