James, Kathleen Donna Maureen

December 4, 1942 - April 2, 2022

Kathleen James passed away on Saturday April 2, 2022 at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her son, Ryan (Darci) James; step-children, Gayle (John) Bain and Craig James; five grandchildren, Sam, Zac, Connor, Sofiya & Max; step-grandchildren, Jillian & Whitney James and Richard & Colin Bain; brother, Donald (Kassandra) Mathieson; sister-in-law, Barb Mathieson; close cousins, Margaret Mathieson & Leah Gentes; nieces & nephews, Kellie, Cleve, Harrison, Danielle, Melodie, Vanessa, Rebecca & Mitchell. Kathleen is pre-deceased by her parents, Donald and Dorothy; brother, Burnie; sisters, Donalda & Jeannie; cousin, Fran; and stepmother, Vera. Kathy was born and raised in North Western Ontario. Rainy River, Red Lake and Kenora were her stomping grounds. Kathy's life, in her younger, braver years involved many life endangering activities in the woods in and around Red Lake! She looked up to her oldest brother and lived with her sister and cousins for some time. Kathy started her nursing training in Ontario then worked as a nurse in Vancouver. She met Jimmie James, they married and had one son, Ryan. Sadly, the union did not last and after their divorce, Kathy moved to Calgary where she raised Ryan with love and focus. They made a life in Calgary until Ryan convinced her to move to Vancouver Island. She retired there after a 40 year career in nursing. Kathy followed her heart to Northern BC to be near her grandchildren before returning to Alberta and living her final years with family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held for Kathleen at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Reunion Chapel (900 Reunion Gateway, Airdrie) on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 am. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca
