Al Keller passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 87 years. Born to Louis and Emma Keller in Duff, Saskatchewan, Al grew up on the family farm.  At the age of seventeen, he moved to Edmonton, Alberta, and pursued various careers.  Al married young at the age of twenty in the fall of 1956. In 1972, he moved to Calgary with his family where he was successful in operating a drywall business.  In 1978, the family moved to Crossfield where they lived for over twenty-five years. He served the community as Counsellor for the town of Crossfield. In the mid 80’s, Al switched from drywall to operating service stations in Calgary, Olds, and Crossfield, Alberta.   Through those years, Al enjoyed his time with his family golfing, boating, and skiing.  He loved travelling to Arizona in the winter and spending summers in the Shuswap. Al is survived by his children, Mark (Aina), Sherry (Dale), and Trent (Lori); his grandchildren, Brent (Malvina) Keeler, Zachary (Chelsea) Keller, Alisanne Keller; and his brother Karl Keller. He is predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Eunice (Ernie) Geisler and Jean (Mike) Zima; and sister-in-law, Judy. Al’s later years were spent living in his “Paradise” by the banks of the Eagle River in Sicamous, BC, sharing time with his family, friends and neighbours. Thank you to the friends and staff at Rocky View Lodge in Crossfield for making Al feel at home, and to the staff at Peter Lougheed and Didsbury Hospital for his comfort in the final days. Al requested a celebration of life to be held at his property at Sicamous. His children are planning this event for May 18, 2024.
