MILLER, Millie
Mrs. Millie Miller of Symons Valley and Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the age of 92.
Millie was born near Nitra, Slovakia on May 15, 1931. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1935. They settled in Rimbey, Alberta and later in Creston, B.C. She moved to Calgary, where she met and married her husband, Bill, and they farmed in Symons Valley until his passing.
She is survived by her daughters Allison Miller of Calgary and Elizabeth (Wesley) Shaw of High River, Alberta, her grandchildren Jillian (Corey Smith) and Evan (Quin) Shaw, all of High River, great-grandchildren Jaxon, Austin and Dean Shaw and her sister Katherine Faynor of Creston, B. C. as well as extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Miller in 2000, her son Wesley Miller in 2022, her parents and siblings.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home (Arbor Chapel, 1605 – 100 Street S.E. Calgary) On Friday, July 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
