Ajibola ‘Michael’ Olatunbosun, born on November 4, 1982, in Ilesa, Osun State, Nigeria, was a seasoned professional in the banking industry. He pursued his education at the University of Benin, honing his skills and obtaining a degree in Accounting in 2006. He received a Master of Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. Later, he expanded his knowledge by studying Business Analysis at the University of Alberta between 2021, and 2022.

 

With a strong foundation in finance and banking, Michael embarked on a successful career journey. He contributed his expertise and rose through the ranks and became a branch Manager at Stanbic IBTC Bank, a financial service holding company in Nigeria between 2008, and 2017. He moved to Canada in 2018 and joined TD Bank. Throughout his professional career, Michael achieved notable milestones and made significant contributions to the banking sector in Nigeria, and Canada.

 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael cherished his personal life. He was happily married to Joyce for twelve years, and together they were blessed with three wonderful children, Michael (Jnr), Emmanuella, and Cherish. Michael was a family man, outside of work, Michael found joy in spending quality time with his family, and friends and nurturing his personal interests. He was an avid Manchester United Soccer Club fan.

 

Michael Olatunbosun's passion for banking, combined with his commitment to his family, shaped him into a well-rounded individual who continued to make a positive impact in both his professional and personal spheres. Michael was a remarkable people person who went above and beyond for anyone, and everyone that crossed his path. He was a philanthropist and he cared in no small measure about his personal social responsibilities. He impacted his community and the less privileged in numerous ways. He will be greatly missed.

 

 

Besides his loving wife Joyce, Michael is survived by his two daughters, Emmanuella, and Cherish; and son Michael Jr., all of Airdrie, AB.

 

Michael is also survived by his aged mother and father, brothers, and sisters-in-law, all of Nigeria, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Funeral Services were held at Living Springs Christian Fellowship (2304 Yankee Valley Boulevard Southwest Airdrie) on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to followed at Airdrie Cemetery.
