Stella was predeceased by her mother, Edith Louttit, father, Sinclair McCauley, sisters Bertha, and Shirley McCauley, Maude Tyrer, Brothers Norman and Sinclair McCauley and Grandson Coltyn Warden. Stella married Gerald (Gerry) Hand on September 1, 1962 in Timmins, Ontario. Shortly after they moved out west to Calgary, AB in May of 1963. She was a secretary for the Price Water House, Amico, Alberta Agriculture, and Money’s Mushrooms. She was also a private secretary for many other businesses. When Stella was 60 years old (1999) she attended Mount Royal College, which she loved very much. She was on the Dean’s Honor Roll three times. She graduated with her Social Worker degree. She then went on to work at the Calgary Native Women’s Shelter and with Calgary Native Addictions (Sunrise).

She volunteered as a White Hatter with her husband at the Calgary Airport for 11 years. They also volunteered for Prison Outreach for 35 years and Stella volunteered for the Airdrie RCMP Victim Assistance Program, as well as many other facilities that provided care to people in need. Stella Cherished the Lord and loved playing badminton, Bridge, golf, curling, bowling and square dancing. Most of all, Stella loved family get-togethers.

Stella is survived by her Husband of 57 years, Gerald Hand, and her five children, Karen and Archie (Bushfield), Sandy and John (Lyons), John Spence, and Pat and Anne (Spence), Rob and Tammy (Spence). As well as her grandchildren, Micheal Hand, David Brazeau, Samantha Brazeau and John (LeVesconte), Peter Brazeau, Jonathan, Jerdon, Austyn, Allysia (Spence) and great-granddaughter Shelby-Lynn (LeVesconte).

She will be deeply missed by all.
