Lyle David Williams June 10, 1941 - May 26, 2022

May 26, 2022 Lyle David Williams left this physical world at his home on the Bertsch farm, but he didn’t leave his family, or anyone else who was blessed to know him. His life was a gift to anyone who chose to accept it.

Lyle was born on June 10, 1941, in Arrowwood, AB where he was raised by his parents, Clate & Nellie Williams. In 1950 a new minister came to Arrowwood from California; one of the daughters caught his eye - Lorene McDaniel. Shortly after high school they married and this summer they would have celebrated 60 yrs of marriage.

Lyle chose to leave the farm for trucking. After some years of long haul trucking he purchased Acme Transport and relocated his family to Beiseker, AB, where he became

an active member of the community. Later he purchased Linden Transport and changed the company name to Acme Linden Transport so that shippers would know they would get the same reliable service. Son Larry eventually took on the trucking end of business and Lyle created a new venture and called it Beiseker Tire Shop.  When the tire shop was closed Lyle and Lorene were empty-nesters and they moved to Acme, 1988 - 2006.

Lyle handled life’s ups and downs one day at a time, teaching his children “not to sweat the small stuff”. Eventually Lyle and Lorene were able to enjoy an amazing retirement. Spending winters in Arizona, Lyle loved his time exploring the desert on his quad. Summers were spent back in Alberta on his son-in-law and daughter’s farm, where he enjoyed mowing grass, gardening, and spending time with all the family. He especially enjoyed hosting ‘happy hour’ on the deck that he built, where all the farm workers would gather there. His very last evening with us was Happy Hour with most family members present on his deck.

Please join our family June 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Bertsch Farm 301044 Rg Rd 22-2 to celebrate Lyle’s life and all the blessings we have received because he was in our lives.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene, 3 children, Larry (Brenda) Williams, Marcia (Fred MacInnes) Williams, Lonna (Neil) Bertsch, 9 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by six brothers and three sisters.
