Rocky View county (RVC) council unanimously approved a budget adjustment to accept a Municipal Demonstration Grant from the Alberta Recycling Management Authority in the amount of approximately $15,600 during a regular meeting Feb. 11.

“The grant funding is intended to be used toward the re-surfacing of the Boulder Creek East playground in Langdon, which is scheduled for replacement in 2020,” said Iain Smith with RVC Transportation Services.

According to Smith, the County plans to install a recycled rubber surface at the playground, which will offer protection against injuries and improve accessibility to the playground for users of all abilities.

The total estimated cost of the project is $56,000, he added.
