Snowfall warning issued for parts of RVC

weather

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for a number of locations within Rocky View County as a storm is expected to roll in the evening of March 6.

Warnings have been issued for:
Rocky View County near Irricana, Beiseker and Kathyrn, Alta.
Rocky View County near Bragg Creek and Tsuu T'ina Res., Alta.
Foothills County near Okotoks and De Winton, Alta.
Rocky View County near Chestermere, Dalroy and Dalemead, Alta.
Wheatland County near Strathmore, Lyalta and Carseland, Alta.

A Pacific weather system will begin to move through southern Alberta beginning Friday night and taper off during the overnight hours on Saturday. Snowfall totals are expected to reach near 20 cm.

Over southeastern portions of Alberta, blowing snow over exposed areas may also reduce visibilities at times.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
