For 15 years, Superior Hearing Solutions has provided a helping hand to Airdrie residents and their hearing needs.
Now, the community is returning the favour by voting Superior Hearing Solutions into the top spot for the Best of Airdrie Readers’ Choice Awards in the best hearing clinic category.
Formed in 2008, Ceara Rolseth started Superior Hearing Solutions at a storefront on Main Street. They moved locations seven years ago, setting up camp behind the Royal Canadian Superstore in Gateway.
Before starting her own company, Rolseth worked as a business development manager for a hearing manufacturer – a position that saw her spend plenty of time travelling across western Canada.
Being from Airdrie, she wanted to work closer to home, which influenced her decision to start her own business.
Offering services such as hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings and prescriptions, and even ear wax removal, Rolseth said it’s been highly rewarding to help others with their hearing needs. Getting to the bottom of their client’s issues can have a major impact on their lives.
“Having somebody come in seeming to be unfriendly but by the time the appointment is finished, and we get to the bottom of what’s actually causing their difficulties, often they walk out with a smile on their face,” Rolseth said. “They seem like a different person.”
Rolseth added that having a small team of staff makes it easy to work together. She is the only registered hearing aid practitioner and works alongside her husband and their employee Debbie, who are both audiometric technicians. With each staff member having important skill sets and roles, Rolseth said the business wouldn’t be able to function otherwise.
Beating out some of the big box stores in this year’s Best of Airdrie contest, Rolseth is excited that they came away with the top prize. She is humbled that the community chose Superior Hearing Solutions as the winner.
“To be an independent, locally owned and operated clinic and win in a large city, I’m humbled that people did vote for us and that they chose us,” she said.
Rolseth was surprised to hear they had won the award in the first place, adding she was certain a larger business would take the prize home.
Thankful to the community for recognizing them in this way, she said they work hard to establish good customer service and are happy to see this effort has paid off.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by our community,” she said. “We pride ourselves on our customer care.”
As they look forward to celebrating their 15-year anniversary later this month, Rolseth said the timing couldn’t have been better. She added it is nice to get recognized for the services they provide.
