Hot and dry conditions have led to 137 new wildfire starts since July 1

Environment Canada is warning Airdronians that as temperatures reach 33 C, (prompting an ongoing heat warning), that there is a risk of thunderstorms developing later this afternoon or this evening.

Since the level four water restrictions were implemented on June 6, Airdrie averaged a water consumption reduction of 26.3 per cent from normal consumption.

Rocky View County Fire Services has issued a Fire Advisory today for all of Rocky View County, effective immediately. Due to the extreme fire risk in the Calgary area, the fire advisory will remain in effect as long as conditions remain.
