Rocky View councillors approved a water line from Calgary to Airdrie along the Range Road 11 right of way, located west of Balzac, May 24. The decision was made despite concerns that water would be inaccessible to the County.

Local bicycle enthusiasts will roll through Airdrie to Olds for the 16th year in a row as part of the RONA MS Bike Tour. The tour, which runs from the rodeo grounds in Airdrie to Olds College and back, is an annual pledge-based fundraising event.
