I am writing in response to the article about Rocky View council’s decision to sanction Kevin Hanson. I am not excusing his behaviour but I did read the report by the Complaints Adjudicator and the article (in Rocky View Weekly, Feb 13 edition) missed a key part of the story.
The Adjudicator’s report states that the complainant also breached confidentiality by providing her with a copy of a legal opinion that supported the complaint against Hanson. The Adjudicator also said that the legal opinion was obtained without appropriate authority.
If the complainant’s behavior was as bad if not worse than Hanson’s why was only Hanson sanctioned? Are more sanctions coming?
There is far more to this story and your paper dropped the ball reporting on it.
