It was just one month ago that I returned to Canada after a year-long hiatus from fresh air and communicable English.

In the beginning of April, I wrote a column in the Airdrie City View about the dog my husband and I recently adopted. I received a ton of feedback on the article so I decided to follow it up with one about the cat we adopted five years ago.

We commend Rocky View County for having a public question period to discuss the proposed 2013 budget before it comes before council for final approval May 7. (See story on page 1).

I don’t know what your week has been like, but I know mine has been ordinary for the most part. And yet in the midst of this ordinary week there has been some surprises that I wasn’t expecting.
