"This crucial initiative helps protect our native flora, agricultural lands, and precious wildlife habitats from the threat of invasive species," said RVC in a statement released on social media.

Black Henbane, pictured, is one of the invasive weeds of concern in Rocky View County.

As part of Rocky View County's (RVC) ongoing efforts to control invasive weeds, crews will be conducting weed spraying in Division 3, 4, and 7 as part of a three-year rotation.

"This crucial initiative helps protect our native flora, agricultural lands, and precious wildlife habitats from the threat of invasive species," said RVC in a statement released on social media.

For residents who prefer alternative weed management along their property, RVC offers an opt-out agreement.

"By opting out, you take responsibility for weed control in the ditches adjacent to your land," explained RVC.

For more information and to explore this option, reach out to our Agricultural Services team at 403-230-1401, or email at [email protected].
