Dear editor, Airdrie now has a population of more than 70,000 people, and is one of the fastest growing cities in Alberta. Despite this, if one of our residents is in need of respiratory care, hemodialysis, surgical services, or obstetrics, they must make the trek into Calgary.

Dear editor, It looks like the idea of a bike path connecting Airdrie to Calgary is going to be looked at. May I point out to those involved that we live on the prairies, which is not a mild and temperate climate. If a right of way does exist, would it not be put to better use building a light rail or bus rapid transit (BRT) route?
