Higher gas prices stinging Airdrie drivers

Airdrie's average gas price is higher than other local jurisdictions on average.

Gas prices have risen significantly in the Airdrie area over the last week.

According to the latest prices being reported at local stations, the average gas price in Airdrie is now 148.9 per litre, a sharp rise from 139.9 per litre at the beginning of the month.

The cheapest locations to fuel in Airdrie are Gas Plus on Airdrie Road at 144.9 per litre and UFA Airdrie at Highland Park Blvd. at 144.15 per litre.

Airdrie's average gas price is higher than other local jurisdictions on average. In Calgary the cheapest gas prices range between 143.9 per litre and 148.8 per litre.

Balzac prices range between 143.9 and 145.9 per litre for non-Costco customers.

As high as prices are now, they are expected to rise even more when the federal carbon tax increases on April 1 from 14.3 cents per litre to 17.6 cents.
