Two Airdrie high school football players have been selected to play in the top 75 Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) and The Sports Network (TSN) Canadian high school prospects game in Ottawa, Ontario on May 31, 2024 at 9:15 MDT.
Ryder Frampton, defensive back for George McDougall High School, and Colton Jackson-McConnell, linebacker for Bert Church High School, normally would be playing spring football together with the Airdrie Raiders; but this year, they will be on the big stage together at TD Place Stadium.
The CFC prospects game features the top 75 high school football players in Canada, and gives the opportunity of a lifetime for these players to gain exposure to college football scouts. This will be the fourth year of competition.
Jackson McConnell is extremely excited to represent Airdrie at the top prospects game, and he looks to build his resume further to reach his dream of playing professional football.
I just want to show that I'm a really physical kind of guy and I can change the course of the game,” said McConnell. He added that stopping the run-game is a staple of his play style as well.
Frampton is nervously excited for the big opportunity, but he looks to bring his shut-down play style and leadership to the field on May 31 to burgeon his resume as well.
“I've always been looking at going to the CFL or NFL, but right now I've been looking at colleges before,” said Frampton.
Both players have been preparing for the CFC top 75 prospects game for over a month on the field and in the weight room, and every rep is valuable to fine tune their craft before the big game.
Multiple players that have played in CFC prospects games have gone on to sign with NCAA football programs, and these two Airdrie stars could be next.
