Rocky View County to see additional snowfall on Wednesday

Cold temperatures and continued snowfall is predicted for Rocky View County on Wednesday, according to AccuWeather.

Flurries are expected to last throughout the day in Chestermere, which will see wind gusts of up to 30 kilometres per hour (km/h) in the morning. The high is a forecast -11 C (-19 C with the wind chill), dropping to a low of -13 C (-22 C with the wind chill) overnight. Winds will ease slightly into the evening, but another five to 10 centimetres of snow is likely.

Cloudy skies and more snow is anticipated for Beiseker, along with a high of -9 C (14 C with the wind chill). Overnight, accumulation of one to three centimetres of snow is predicted as the thermostat dips to a low of -11 C (-20 C with the wind chill).

"Limited outdoor activity" is recommended in the Madden area, due to a daytime high of -11 C (-17 C with the wind chill) and steady 20 km/h winds. Another six to 12 centimetres of snow is possible overnight, and as the winds pick up to closer to 25 km/h, the temperature will fall to a brisk -13 C (-23 C with the wind chill).

Winds of almost 30 km/h are anticipated throughout the day in Redwood Meadows, which will see a high of -11 C (-19 C with the wind chill) and regular flurries. Overnight, an additional five to 10 centimetres of accumulation is expected, with the thermostat dropping to a low of -15 C (-25 C with the wind chill). AccuWeather advises hypothermia is "likely" without protective clothing.
