According to a social media post from the Village of Beiseker, the popular and critically acclaimed television series Fargo is filming some scenes in Beiseker for its upcoming fifth season between Feb. 27 and March 1. 

Mayor Warren Wise said the decision to drop the rate increase came at the advice of the Village’s attorney after reviewing a letter sent by the lawyer representing 10 tenants at the Beiseker Airport, who called the rent increase “illegal” based on the market value clause within the current lease.

A dispute over the future of the Beiseker Airport may be set to blow sky high, as a group of current tenants at the local airfield intend to challenge a recent 240 per cent rent increase from the Village.

"RCMP can report that three people were taken to various hospitals via ground ambulance with what is believed to be minor injuries," stated the detachment in an afternoon update.

Coming into its 102nd year, the Village of Beiseker has reached an important crossroads in its development.

The Village of Beiseker put on a day's worth of family-friendly holiday fun on Dec. 3, including a Christmas market, friendly hockey game between Beiseker and Irricana fire crews, a parade down Main Street, and more.

"The Beiseker community have enjoyed fun events and the support the Beiseker Lions Club renders to the community," Richter said in an email statement. "The Beiseker Lions Club have been very important to our community and I ... want to say thanks to them."

According to Peckham, Beiseker's Christmas event does wonders to bring the village together during the holiday season.

The spirit of Christmas and giving is alive and well in Beiseker, as the rural community prepares to make a full-on effort to provide Christmas hampers to local families in need this holiday season.
