Beiseker’s volunteer-run fire station has announced it is now authorized to provide emergency medical services up to the level of Primary Care Paramedic following a push for funding and Alberta Health Services certification.

In what’s being dubbed as ‘Hockey Night in Beiseker,’ on Dec. 31 at 5 p.m., the Beiseker Bullets women’s team will face off against a squad comprised of local residents whose families have been cornerstones of Beiseker for the last 100 years.

“There are a lot of people on there he doesn’t even know, both bidding and donating items,” she said. “As far as his outlook, he’s very positive. He believes he’s going to fight this, we believe he’s going to fight this, and he’s not stopping."

The Village of Beiseker is hosting its annual Christmas event, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the hopes of reigniting a sense of community and togetherness in time for the holiday season on Dec. 4.
